Anxiety/Depression
My approach to working with anxiety and depression is thoughtful, supportive, and personalized for both children and adults. With over 15 years of experience in the mental health field, I help clients explore the core beliefs that often drive anxious thoughts and depressive patterns. Together, we look at how symptoms show up in daily life—at home, at school, at work, and in the community—so therapy feels practical and relevant, not just theoretical. This real-life focus allows clients to better understand their emotional responses and begin making meaningful changes.
In sessions, I use a blend of evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), grounding techniques, narrative therapy, and other therapeutic modalities tailored to each client’s needs. We work intentionally to slow unhelpful thought patterns while also addressing past experiences and future worries that may be increasing anxiety or low mood. My goal is to create a calm, supportive space where clients feel empowered to build coping skills, increase emotional awareness, and move toward greater balance, confidence, and emotional well-being.
It’s challenging enough to maintain the role of a good mom, teacher, spouse, employee, boss, first responder, member of the community. Now we need to be resilient, to bounce back from psychological stress that came at us hard and unexpectedly.
You may be worried about your health and the health of your loved ones. You may be having difficulty sleeping or concentrating. Feeling overwhelmed with daily life experiences and task. I know it’s tough. But you are not alone. You don’t have to figure this out by yourself. I’m here to help. We all need support at certain times in our lives.
Don’t be afraid to reach out for that support. I’m here to give you that support. I will help you talk through what’s upsetting you, work on continuing the strategies that have worked for you and revise or tweak the ones that haven’t. You want to think clearly, know how to adjust to the uncertainties and negative changes that are occurring to you and around you.
I will help you minimize mental suffering, bounce back from setbacks, maintain your calm, and plan ways to minimize the impact of forces beyond your control and avoid the ones that are not. As a bonus – as clichéd as this may sound – helping you develop coping skills that will impact your life and those in your life.
